A grand antique Georgian snake guard chain made up of interwoven pinchbeck links gilded in 18ct yellow gold. The spherical scales glitter beautifully as they catch the light and together form one thick strand that articulates fluidly.
It’s complete with a claw clasp at the end which would have traditionally been adorned with a pocket watch, lorgnette or muff. It’s been beautifully preserved from the early 19th Century and can be worn as one long chain or looped twice around the neck if preferred.
